NEW 940 Fall Club

Club 940 to add new Fall Club schedule for area athletes

Everyone here at Club 940 Volleyball hopes you are enjoying our inaugural slate of preseason tryouts. The season may not start until December, but we have witnessed some incredible athleticism, hard work, and grit as girls of all ages push themselves to the limit on the court – all with a big smile on their face.

As these tryouts move along, we welcome feedback to make the process more enjoyable and beneficial for everyone.

Speaking of our club being beneficial for everyone, one question making the rounds among excited parents is if we intend to offer additional instruction for those athletes who don’t have club volleyball experience or maybe feel they aren’t quite ready for the upcoming club season? And the answer is YES. On Saturday, July 21 (short notice, we know), we will be holding a special Coach Look from 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. at Lake Dallas High School.

Fall Club season is for:

  • New players to the sport
  • Players with limited experience
  • Experienced players looking to play club year-round

How does Fall Club work?

The Fall Club season will run from the last week of August through Oct. 27 and will be geared toward giving players (10U, 12U, and 14U) a chance to gain valuable experience and development from the ground up, as our coaches will take a step back from the competitive aspect of volleyball to focus on everything from core fundamentals to game strategy.

Practices will be held twice a week. There will also be Saturday games to be announced at a later date.

Admittedly, Fall Club is not something we considered when we first started Club 940. But there are players among us who could use the extra practice and exposure. Sure, they are showing incredible promise already and will undoubtedly be amazing contributors to this program. But they crave extra instruction, and we want to be the ones who give that to them.

“We want Club 940 to be a welcoming home for any young girl who loves the sport of volleyball – regardless of where they are at in the developmental process,” Club 940 Owner Jennifer Homeyer said. “Our coaches are here for many reasons, but one of them is to push these girls to be the best they can be on and off the court and do so in a way that fosters the athletes’ love for the game. We want to meet these girls where they are at and take them to the next level.”
